　　1. present   n.礼物

　　present指礼物的一般性用语，gift是稍正式的用法。

　　2. give away   分配；分送；赠送

　　例如：He gave all his lands away to the city.  他把他所有的土地捐赠给那个城市。

　　giveaway 《美》赠品;《美》广播、电视台的有奖节目；（不经意间）泄密等

　　3. remember   v.  纪念；记下；记住

　　remember to do sth.  记得去做某事

　　remember doing sth.  记得曾经做过某事

　　例如：

　　I can’t remember his name.  我想不起他的名字了。

　　I remember seeing her somewhere.  我记得在哪里见过她。

　　Remember to turn the lights off when you leave.  你走的时候记着把灯关了。

　　4. rather than   与其……（不如……）；不是……（而是……）

　　例如：I’d rather play football than go swimming.  我宁可去踢球也不去游泳。

　　5. spend   v.  用（钱）；花费（金钱）

　　spend…doing sth.; spend… on sth. 两个短语的意思都是“花费……做某事”，但是在结构搭配上完全不同，当强调花费时间或金钱去做某事时，动词“做”使用动名词形式，即doing；否则要使用第二种形式在名词前使用介词on。例如：

　　He spent all his savings on a new car.   他将全部积蓄花在一辆新车上。

　　She spent 50 yuan at the supermarket.  她在超级市场花了50元。

　　I spent my holiday (in) reading and fishing.  我的假期在看看书、钓钓鱼中度过。

　　6. instead   adv.   代替；取而代之的是

　　例如：
